Project title: EU Integration and Environment — public perception and discourse in Albania
Duration: June – December 2010
Overview and objectives: The project consists on the identification of the problems that Albania will face in the path towards EU integration regarding the environmental aspect. It will also push the policy makers to work more on the environmental sector, as a vital sector not just for the EU integration of Albania, but also for the economy and sustainable development of the country.
The project aims to:
- monitor the coverage and importance that is given to environment in the public discourse, in the viewpoint of EU integration;
- survey the perception of the citizens on the importance that environment has for Albania to join the EU;
- analyze the latest documents and papers on the fulfillment of the environmental acquis by Albania, and;
- raise the awareness on the importance of this issue for the path of Albania towards joining the EU.
